In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add warm water and 1/4 cup vegetable oil, knead into a smooth dough. Cover and rest for 30 minutes.
In a small bowl, combine red bean paste with sugar until well mixed. Divide into 8 equal balls.
Divide dough into 8 portions. Roll each into a thin oval, place a red bean paste ball in the center, fold edges over to seal, then gently flatten into a disc.
Brush each disc lightly with water, then press into sesame seeds to coat one side.
Heat 3 tablespoons oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Place pastries sesame-side down, cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook another 3-4 minutes. Repeat with remaining pastries, adding oil as needed.
Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
